Their weekly broadcasts on Twitch comprise one of the most popular “ actual play” experiences in the world - that is, a performance devoted to actually playing D&D in real time. That gives fans new and old a great excuse to catch up on the original material - dozens of hours of gameplay available both on YouTube and as a podcast.Ĭritical Role, the team behind Vox Machina, is a troupe of voice actors who have been playing Dungeons & Dragons together since 2014. Episodes are currently dropping each Friday throughout February. Now I know what Sigourney Weaver felt like, minus the Xenomorphs. The Legend of Vox Machina, the highly anticipated adult animated series based on Critical Role, is finally available on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service. More than any other mech game, it nails the feel just right without throwing too much at us to freak out our bodies. Vox Machinae has some great opportunities for experiences for its players. This is near term stuff my brain understands. I can understand the physical objects and metallic frame that I’m stuck in because I see construction vehicles on my daily commute anyways. I’ve tried other VR mech games and they all leave me ready to hurl, mostly because the space feels cramped and inaccurate and too futuristic to be believable and physically relatable. I can turn my head as quick as I want, but if there’s something in front of me and off in the distance, I feel like I’m not out of place. Thanks to the placement of objects in my foreground and background, I have places to focus my view. It’s not reality-level of quality, but the HD holds up and I don’t get nauseous at all. Hell, it’s borderline Steel Battalion, but in VR.Īdded to the controls are how the Rift’s in-goggle visuals manage to stay crisp and clean. The Oculus controllers are fantastic for mimicking actual grip and motion of my hands. I fumble around (a lot) until I get the hang of it, eventually learning via muscle memory where the controls are and becoming what I like to refer to as a “show floor pro.”Īpart from haptic feedback, it feels real. There are also switches and levers for guns and rockets and more, though the demo only shows a defined cross-section of everything that the full game will offer. My left hand accelerates and slows down the mech via a thruster, or adjusts and turns position with a joystick, while my right hand falls on a giant button that enables boosting in air. I need to learn where all of the controls are around this cockpit, and how to understand my mech’s size and space in relation to the environment. The premise behind the game doesn’t seem to be the PvP battles that I engage in against other attendees, or the hard labor I need to do to help society, but to learn the basics of manipulating this massive beast and utilizing that knowledge in different ways. There’s depth all around me, from the far-reaching desert beyond the glass windows, to the beams supporting the vehicle’s greenhouse, to the lights and buttons and controls strategically placed in front of me. Though I’m physically seated in an office chair in the middle of a work space in downtown Boston, I feel like I’m actually in a steel cage with mechanical arms and legs. My demo at the Oculus Game Days at PAX East makes sure of it. Sure, it’ll play without the technology, but why would you? This experience is more than a game, it’s an accurate simulation of what I’d imagine piloting a mech will be. Vox Machinae, the upcoming game from Space Bullet Dynamics Corporation, is built ground up for VR. I fell for trap and was surrounded, and am now just a casualty.ĭamn, but it was good. The ground shakes, the sound booms in my ears, and I feel like I’m about to fall out. I slam forward into the mech in front of me, using all of my physical might. My gun is still chiming, letting me know that it hasn’t hit an acceptable level yet for use. I push the accelerator forward with my left hand, twisting my wrist as I hit the ground moving as fast as possible. I land to the right of where I was, on the other side of the mountain and behind my enemy. A slight toggle forward and I have a decent angle. I slam my right palm onto the big shiny button-like joystick, vaulting me into the air. I need to move fast. I look to the left and right, around the big space in the cockpit front of me, around structure and glass, past buttons and gauges and switches. I’m standing behind a hill with an opponent around the corner, making his way towards my position. I have an overheating gun that needs to cool down. (Source: Intel)Īlso at the investor day, Intel CEO Bob Swan sketched out the company's plans and goals over the next several years. Intel says its targeting a much larger total addressable market in the “data-centric” era. Renduchintala also said Intel's future performance gains will be driven by innovations in six areas: process and packaging, architecture, memory, interconnect, security and software. "Intel is expanding the formula of integration well beyond the single die," he said. This will involve the incorporation of new process technologies and new packaging technologies to integrate individual IC blocks - or chiplets - into a heterogeneous device. Renduchintala said Intel is undergoing a transition from its historical "tick-tock" cadence of chip scaling toward a new model of innovation that goes beyond brute-force scaling. The company is targeting a 7-nm+ process in 2022 and a 7-nm++ in 2023. The technology, which is expected to be available next year, is an early example of a broader push by the semiconductor industry toward heterogeneous integration - separately manufactured silicon and non-silicon components integrated into a three-dimensional system-in-a-package.Īs with prior nodes, Intel plans to release intra-node optimizations at 7 nm. Last December, Intel introduced Foveros, a new 3D packaging technology for face-to-face stacking of logic. "Intel is developing the world's leading portfolio of advanced packaging technologies," Renduchintala said. The 7-nm GPU will be available in Intel's advanced Foveros and EMIB packages, Renduchintala said. Renduchintala said Intel would increasingly shift from emphasizing transistor scaling and monolithic integration to emphasizing heterogeneous scaling and integration moving forward. It will follow the launch of Intel's first discrete GPU, which is expected next year. Intel's first 7-nm product is expected to be a general-purpose GPU for data center AI and high-performance computing based on Intel's Xe architecture. Renduchintala told investors that the company's 7-nm process technology is expected to provide about 20% increase in performance per watt with a 4x reduction in design rule complexity. Intel's delays at 10-nm have contributed to the company losing some market share to longtime PC processor rival AMD, which plans to begin shipping 7-nm chips later this year. Difficulties with ramping up the yield of 10-nm to acceptable production levels have caused a lengthy delay in the rollout of the chips, which were initially targeted for release in 2016. The timing of 10-nm shipments has been an issue that Intel has grappled with for more than a year. Renduchintala added that Intel plans to launch several 10-nm products in 20. Murthy Renduchintala, Intel's chief engineering officer and president of the company's Technology, Systems Architecture and Client Group, reiterated that Intel's first 10-nm processors to ship will be its Ice Lake notebook PC processors. 【PowerUP Asia 2023】WBG Technologies Toward Sustainability The largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere, it has been dubbed America’s Dead Sea, and salt has turned the beach stark white. It seems the previous owner decided to not replace the 6-pin but rather just patch into it with a 7-pin, so it's a mess. I opened all the wiring up and found about 6 butt splices and even a couple marettes holding the wiring together, as well as d disconnected wire, presumably what is causing my problems. After my last trip and having no left turn signal or brake lights, I realized I had a problem. 7 pin plugs are pretty standard the 12 pin can throw the odd curly colour so always test to confirm voltage and polarity, some equipment will not handle reverse polarity at all, don't assume it was wired correctly in the first place, you can even find a mod may have been done further down the line out of sight, the fuses in the fuse board may not match their labels either, you pull a fuse and the circuit you are working on is still live, test always to be sure.My 2000 Jayco Qwest 10X had the wiring converted from the stock 6-pin rectangle adapter to a 7-pin adapter, presumably by the previous owner. brown will come into the equation as well at times, mostly lights though. Take Note that wiring found in caravans may vary between fittings, do not assume RED is POS (+ve) and BLACK is NEG (-ve), sometimes White can be NEG( -ve ) with BLACK POS (+ve), so it pays to check the polarity of connections when testing circuits. (pull pin on breakaway will activate the blue as well) a meter on this pin should only be active when the brake pedal is pushed or the button on the controller, if it stays alive when neither are operated then you will have to find where the power is coming from by simple disconnect of any other live wires. the blue wire is your brake wire so that should be the only one on the #5 pin. the Breakaway should have just a 12v supply from tug to charge its battery but it may be getting power from the 12v van supply loom elsewhere. if this is in the van plug then disconnect it and your problem may be solved. The instructions for the Breakaway are easy enough to find online, if the van was wired up for NSW it will have a purple wire for the breakaway monitor in tug, as NSW required one to be fitted in tug, other states didn't, NSW doesn't require it anymore. Pin # 10 then provides a heavy pin connection for the earth return to tug If you have all the wiring correct as said, then make sure you dial down the braking power so brakes are not locking up. If you want to keep the use of your tug reversing lights, do not use pin #2 on tug and use a separate heavy line from tug battery to pin # 8 on tug socket and use pin # 8 on van plug to provide power through the Setec to charge van battery when moving. This meant that you had to terminate (or disconnect) this wire at the tug socket (thus disabling the reversing lights) and run a separate line from tug battery to pin # 2 connector to provide power to van battery via Setec. Pin #2 was originally meant for reversing light from tug, but Jayco hi-jacked this connection to run 12 volt power to Setec (or similar) to charge van battery whilst on the move using pin # 2 on van socket (Aux input). I have a separate dedicated line from tug to van with Anderson plug connections. If you are running your fridge, it must be connected to the heavier pins - # 8 hi current pos +ve from tug (Fused of course) and pin # 10 is the hi current neg -ve back to tug vehicle chassis. But for your info, this is what I have done for my van if you have a Setec BMS. Pins 8 to 12 are not normally involved, but are intended to carry the heavier currents to the van - 35A as against 15A for the smaller pins. Generally speaking, his advices are correct. Click to expand.Hi, has sent you a picture of a flat 7 pin plug for your van instead of the 12 pin you have fitted. The show’s second season premiered with 10x more demand than the first season’s premiere (understandable, now that an audience had started to dive in), and nearly doubled that demand by its fourth week. The first season saw a 20x increase in demand between the premiere date and the 11 weeks that followed. The former is a little more complicated to discern, but examining demand data for each season over the last few years can help in determining that result.Īll three seasons of Manifest see a continuous increase in demand with each new season. Television-produced series to premiere on Netflix around the world in the coming months”). The second and third points intersect in many ways does Manifest fill a hole that Netflix needs, and does the deal come with all seasons on Netflix globally? A press release from the company confirms the latter (“The deal also includes previous seasons of the Warner Bros. This isn’t Netflix trying to create four more seasons out of a show that might run out of steam three episode. The company is investing in one final “super packed” season that will give fans the ending to the show they love. Manifest is a pretty simple case for executives. What is the overall longevity of the acquisition? Does the acquisition come with the entire suite of previous seasons for global distribution?Ĥ. Does the show fulfill a need that a streaming service requires to acquire subscribers or lower churn rates?ģ. Does the cost of investing in another season, or multiple seasons, come with a confident bet on return as seen through available data?Ģ. There are a few essential questions that players in the space need to answer before determining whether or not to acquire the rights to a series that someone else has decided no longer works for them.ġ. To put it simply, it’s not just that Manifest has an army of fans ready to tweet, post on Instagram and Facebook, or create TikTok and YouTube videos at any given moment - viewers are watching. It has nearly one billion peer-to-peer streams for anyone trying to watch. Globally, where the show is on different streaming services depending on the region (Prime Video in India, for example), Manifest has remained one of the top 100 most in-demand shows since April 22nd. Since then, following non-stop fan campaigning and, more importantly, consistent streaming from hungry viewers, the show has remained within the top 20 in-demand series in the US. The show, which was canceled by NBC earlier this year, jumped more than 300 ranking spots in the United States between the time just before the third season premiered (on NBC) and when the show appeared on Netflix in the United States. It’s a question that’s come up once again following Netflix’s somewhat inevitable decision to renew Manifest for a fourth and final season. But as their new realities become clear, a deeper mystery unfolds and some of the returned passengers soon realize they may be meant for something greater than they ever thought possible. When does it make sense for a major SVOD or AVOD player to “save a show?” Now, faced with the impossible, they’re all given a second chance. But in the span of those few hours, the world had aged five years – and their friends, families and colleagues, after mourning their loss, had given up hope and moved on. Manifest‘s plot synopsis: “When Montego Air Flight 828 landed safely after a turbulent but routine flight, the crew and passengers were relieved. The super-sized 20-episode pickup would help toward that goal.” Cast and crew That plan will now be condensed to bring the story of the passengers of Flight 828 to a proper conclusion in four seasons. “The pickup by Netflix will give fans answers after the cancellation by NBC made for a premature ending, leaving unanswered questions and unresolved Season 3 finale cliffhangers for the series, which had been originally conceived by Rake for a six-season run. The twenty-episode season will help answer the lingering questions still left unanswered in the Season 3 finale.
